ABOUT THE HAF/AIA HONOLULU SCHOLARSHIP FUND
For more than ten years, the Honolulu Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the Hawaii Architectural Foundation have independently awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to Architecture Students studying at the University of Hawaii.
In 2017 the two organizations entered into a partnership agreement to benefit the future leaders of the Architecture profession in Hawaii by creating the Architecture and Built Environment Student Scholarship Fund. The fund is designed to collectively provide ongoing annual support in the form of student scholarships for full-time students studying the Built Environment (Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Planning, Urban Design, etc) at a Higher Education program in Hawaii.
By working together, our two organizations hope to reach a broader audience throughout our local community, and eventually provide increased scholarship support to our local students.

The funds generated from the HAF/AIA Honolulu Scholarship Fund will offer future students even more support on their path to becoming the future leaders of our industry.

The Hawaii Architectural Foundation (HAF) has provided scholarships to deserving students pursuing a degree at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa School of Architecture. This scholarship enables students to offset higher educational costs associated with attendance (e.g. tuition, books, fees, etc.). Priority is given to students who are focused on: Sense of Place; Sustainability; Alternative Energy Systems; and/or New Technologies for Environmental Systems. This support is enormously important to our students and helps ensure their future as architects.

Donations to the Fund are made directly to the Hawaii Architectural Foundation, a 501(c)3 charity, making all gifts fully tax-deductible for donors. The fund will provide a minimum of two $1000 scholarships each year, with the goal of even more based on the interest and/or dividends generated by the fund principal.
